OCS 2007 R2 Install issue

Hello all,

I'm trying to install OCS 2007 R2 onto Windows Server 2008 STD x64.
Schema updates ran fine. When trying to install the server, i get the
following error
"Install Application Host Install Application Host Location: C:
\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2\
\Application Host
Application Host Install Log: LC App Server[2010_04_29][11_59_53].log
Failure
[0xC3EC796A] MSI installation was unsuccessful. Please check the log
file for more information."

I tried re-installing IIS as was suggested on one of the forums -
didn't fix the issue.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?

What does the log file say? What errors, if any, appear in the event
log. What user are you using to do the installation (and do they have
admin rights?

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the logs and only things that
caught my attention were:

"MSI (c) (44:D4) [14:53:36:596]: Windows Installer installed the
product. Product Name: Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2,
Application Host. Product Version: 3.5.6907.0. Product Language: 1033.
Installation success or error status: 1603."

and

"MSI (s) (6C:48) [14:53:35:971]: The call to SRSetRestorePoint API
failed. Returned status: 0. GetLastError() returned: 127"

I will gladly upload the entire log file if needed if that will help.
So far I was unable to find anything on the web that would help me
identify the issue causing this.
